Friday evening: Boat pick up

Join your boat and complete a thorough hand over with the base team.

Eating & local entertainment:

• You can eat on board or take advantage of Port Solent’s many excellent restaurants and bars. 
• enjoy a visit to the cinema.

Night time berthing:

You need to be berthed for the night one hour before sunset. However, there’s no reason why you can’t head off to one of the Portsmouth Marinas such as the vibrant Gunwharf Quays, or to Haslar Marina and eat at The Lightship.

Saturday: Port Solent to Cowes via Osborne Bay 

14nm - 3 hours sailing 

Enjoy your progress out of the harbour past the Historic Dockyards and Naval Base that is the heart Portsmouth Harbour.

You can see HMS Warrior and Victory, any number of warships, and other legendary vessels such as Vendée Globe Yacht Hugo Boss.

Take your time enjoying the sailing and anchor for lunch in the shelter of Osborne Bay – look out for the ice cream boat!

In the evening, head round the corner into Cowes and stay in one of the many marinas, such as Shepards Marina or The Cowes Yacht Haven with their easy access to the busy town. 

Sunday: Cowes to Port Solent via Beaulieu 

20nm - 4 hours sailing 

Enjoy some sailing in the Western Solent before heading up the over to Stokes Bay for a refreshing swim and a bite of lunch before heading back round the corner into Portsmouth Harbour and back to base.

If you prefer, leave Cowes first thing and make your way up the Beaulieu River for an early lunch and a walk in the beautiful New Forest before sailing back to Port Solent.
