With Prometheus Sailing you can learn to sail in the Solent – the world’s most rigorous sail training ground! RYA Sailing Courses are designed to help complete beginners, young sailors and crew members learn to sail, build their confidence and progress towards recognised RYA qualifications.

Our Prometheus Sailing fleet:

Our Prometheus 41 fleet of yachts are the newest and most modern in the UK. With excellent headroom, comfortable double berths and plenty of space below and above deck, they are ideal for both novice and more experienced sailors.

Our Port Solent location:

Our RYA Training Centre in Port Solent Marina has excellent facilities and positioned well inside Portsmouth Harbour. It offers sheltered nights alongside and the opportunity to sail safely even in bigger winds.

The naval port is a great place for gaining confidence in a busy marine environment. Further up harbour, there are opportunities for sailing and night pilotage in the quiet of Fareham Lake. Once out into the Solent there are boundless possibilities – passages to Cowes, Southampton, Lymington and Yarmouth are always popular.  With Chichester Harbour to the east there’s no shortage of destinations.

For many years Prometheus Sailing has had a flourishing instructor development programme. We are proud of the calibre and kindness of our staff. Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the sport is paramount when we choose our staff. With us you can go from first steps to qualified safe in the knowledge that a Prometheus Instructor will be alongside you, teaching and coaching you along your journey.
